For those who like their dystopias/post-apocalyptic fiction on the lighter side, I would recommend Dark Life by Kat Falls.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise the titles I have enjoyed this year include:
Birthmarked by O'Brien
Matched by Condie (coming Nov. 30, 2010)
Incarceron by Fisher
I would add Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading Sea Glass by Maria V. Snyder. Love her books!
ReplyDeleteI second INCARCERON, for both the dystopian and post-apocalyptic categories.
ReplyDeleteYou can't read it yet unless you are lucky enough to have an ARC or win one, but put Ally Condie's MATCHED on your Dystopian list! It comes out Nov. 30th.
ReplyDeleteWould second Birthmarked by Caragh O'Brien.
ReplyDeleteAlso:
Candor by Pam Bachorz
Epitaph Road by David Patneaude
Skinned and Crashed by Robin Wasserman
The Line by Teri Hall
Thanks for the list! Dystopian/post-apocalyptic is one of my favorite genres. I've read (and loved!) most of the books you have listed but there's a few I'm definitely adding to my to read. Thanks for the great list.
ReplyDeleteAs for anything to add, I think you covered all my favorites.
Maze Runner is on my to read list :)

ReplyDeleteDefinitely HOW I LIVE NOW and FAHRENHEIT 451.
ReplyDeleteAlso. Before we move on to what to read next. Have you read MOCKINGJAY yet???

The Handmaid's Tale by margaret atwood is one of the best works of fiction. Margaret Atwood is a genius! I also recommend Children of Men by PD James. I think these 2 books are even better than the Hunger Games . Please don't kill me!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what to add exactly, but I'm writing all those novel's down! I haven't read Mockingjay yet, but I'm super keen. I also love the Uglies saga, I want to read Inside Out by Maria V Snyder and I quite enjoyed City of Ember.
