Meet the Narrators!
Khristine Hvam: Khristine studied acting for the theater and film and then, surprisingly, found herself producing radio and television. Khristine earned her first Audie nomination in 2010 for the book "Skinwalker" by Faith Hunter. I enjoy how they are "artists" because narration is truly an art. The story isn't the same with a bad voice over. I've never really thought of narrators as being...people, as harsh as that sounds. They're always just: there. A name on the box. I'm really glad you've posted this, as it's changed my views! All these narrators sound (haha) absolutely brilliant.
ReplyDeleteThey are artists! And each one of them has a unique voice that makes listening to their work wonderful.
DeleteWish I had a good voice!! It is talent to bring a book to life by reading it!!
ReplyDeleteAngie
It is!
DeleteI know Ilyana Kadushin. She did a pretty good job of narrating the Twilight Saga. I enjoyed it anyway.
ReplyDeleteI know a lot of people did. She's very talented.
DeleteI LOVE THIS SERIES! I cannot tell you how much I want to hug the computer screen right now (in fact, my face is kind of pressed into it). How on earth did you contact all of these incredible artists? *strikes up applause*
ReplyDeleteI am utterly fascinated with the the creating of audiobooks. This is going to be so good.
(Too bad you couldn't get a hold of Alan Cumming to talk about Leviathan) ;)
A great audio book narrator brings a book to life in such a spectacular way. It's always good to discover good narrators. If I find one I love, I'm pretty much guaranteed to listen to anything they narrate, given that it isn't abridged. I'm glad I listen to so many audio books now. I was missing out before!
